a note from Intars!

Hello, Everybody!

Man, it feels good to sit down after a super long day and week… It’s Saturday night and I just got back from a little two mile jog which felt more like seven!!! No kidding, the climate here in Colorado and especially the elevation is different from I am used to. Here in Fort Collins the elevations is some 5000ft above the sea level which makes any serious physical activities outdoors quite challenging and interesting for me.... :)

Anyway, it is very beautiful out here and I've been enjoying mountains all over the place. Last weekend, my roommate, Josh, and I went to Estes Park to hang out with some high school kids that he has been working and ministering to for the last couple of years. Josh is a cool dude from Boulder, CO and he’s also coming on staff this summer and is going to be working with Student Venture which is a high school ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC). We’ve been getting along really well and are enjoying getting to know each other.

The last two weeks have been busy with classes. All new staff is required to take two seminary graduate classes in doctrine survey and Bible study methods. It’s been really intense because we’re basically packing a semester’s worth of material in two weeks... Next two weeks, however, are going to be packed with MPD (ministry partner development/support raising) training.

Otherwise, I am doing good, a little overwhelmed, but good. It’s been interesting to look at the CCC ministry from a different perspective - not as a student on a campus, but as a full time staff, hopefully. We been hearing a lot from the top leaders within the campus crusade and I have been learning a lot about the ministry's goals, dreams and visions, and it’s pretty cool. I’ve been also finding out about the many opportunities CCC offers. They actually have some 60 different ministries, some of which include student, music, inner city, sports, family as well as ministries in business and medical fields both nationally and overseas (if you go to, you’ll find links to all CCC ministries on the left hand side, check it out if you’d like)

The director of the new staff training program said that this was the biggest new staff group (260) she’s ever seen in her carrier, so that made us all feel pretty cool…! seriously there are people literally from all over... the first night I got here I met a guy from LA and another dude from New York City... we actually went out that same night to see kicking and screaming.. it was hilarious...

Overall, I have been enjoying my time here so far. God’s been teaching me and speaking to me in special ways and I am grateful for that. I am glad that I am here this summer. It’s been neat to see how God has been humbling my heart as I trust Him with every single day, and my life. It’s exciting to be a part of God’s plan for me knowing that things will work out for the best. It has not necessarily been easy all the time; I see satan trying to attack me and get me off the track daily but I am confident that by the power of Jesus Christ, he does not have a chance...

My prayer for you too guys is that you are able to treasure Christ more and more every day and experience His goodness; and also that you are able by the power of the Holy Spirit resist the evil one with boldness and confidence.
I hope you all are doing great and experiencing God daily.
God bless you,

Small Group this Sunday 4/30

Small group this Sunday is at Jon Dordal's place in Northfield. It's a bit of a long haul, so I would try to leave by 5:00. It's probably 45-50 miles no matter where you're coming from. However, since many of you play Ultimate Frisbee on Sundays, and we all know Jon D does as well, maybe some of us can leave together from Ultimate for his house and car pool?

One other thing - I inadvertantly threw away the schedule sheet for drinks, sweet, salty, etc in my missions trip haste. Does anyone remember what they had? If not, I'll take care of it. Looking forward to hanging with you men.

Bulletin Blooper Humor

They're Back! Church Bulletin Bloopers! Thank our God for church ladies with typewriters that make mistakes. These sentences actually appeared in church bulletins or were announced during church services:

6. The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict.

7. Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say "hell" to someone who doesn't care much about you.

8. Don't let worry kill you off - let the Church help.

9. Miss Charlene Mason sang "I will not pass this way again," giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.

10. For those of you who have children and don't know it, we have a nursery downstairs.

11. Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir. They need all the help they can get.
